Quality Manager

Location: Andover

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-4:30pm & Friday 8am-3:30pm

Overview

A reputable distribution business is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee its Quality Management System and support ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9120 B. The successful candidate will also provide interim and future leadership in Health & Safety, playing a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Quality function.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO standards.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming goods and ensure supplier quality through audits and assessments.
  • Lead non-conformance investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and manage associated documentation.
  • Oversee documentation control, FAIRs, and calibration records.

Health & Safety (Short and Long Term):

  • Support immediate site H&S requirements and take full ownership in future succession planning.
  • Review and update risk assessments and ensure compliance with health & safety legislation.
  • Identify training needs and promote a safe working environment.

Leadership and Compliance:

  • Supervise and develop team members, ensuring adherence to QMS and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including purchasing, sales and senior management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Person Profile

Essential:

  • Experience in a quality management role within a distribution or similar operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and associated quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and work across departments.
  • IT literate with strong communication and analytical abilities.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Health & Safety management and internal audits.
  • Familiarity with AS9120 B, supplier management and quality reporting.
