Location: Swindon
Salary: Circa £70,000 – £75,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a leading automotive manufacturing business based in Swindon, to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a strategic impact.
The Head of Finance will oversee all aspects of the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. You’ll manage a team of four and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance department, ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts.
- Provide commercial and strategic insight to the senior management team to inform business decisions.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, cost controls, and financial risk management.
- Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in finance systems and processes.
- Lead and support a finance team including Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and Finance Assistants.
- Oversee tax, VAT, and payroll compliance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial analysis and business performance insights.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and contribute to strategic business planning.
- Analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen.
- Comfortable in a hands-on finance leadership role in a fast-moving environment.
