eDV Site Reliability Engineer

Looking for an eDV SRE. Someone with a defence industry specialism with a passion for creating efficient and secure cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical part in transforming and enhancing both internal and external operations through effective SRE practices.

Core Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Excellence: Design, manage, and evolve our cloud-based infrastructure to support high-traffic applications and seamless service delivery.
• Secure Deployment: Develop and refine our deployment pipelines with a focus on automation and security to ensure smooth, reliable software releases.
• Collaboration & Insights: Work closely with cross-functional product teams to drive infrastructure improvements, offering insights and recommendations for optimizing performance and scalability.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate current systems, identifying opportunities for performance enhancements and risk mitigation.
• Innovation & Automation: Spearhead initiatives to integrate cutting-edge and automated solutions across our cloud platforms.

Essential Skills

• Linux Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, especially with CentOS, Red Hat, and Ubuntu, to ensure platform robustness and stability.
• Cloud Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in architecting scalable, automated environments on AWS, utilizing best practices.
• Automation Tools: Skilled in using and managing tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to automate infrastructure.
• Container Tech: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration solutions.
• Pipelines & CI/CD: Proven skills in maintaining and evolving Jenkins pipelines and robust CI/CD processes.
• Problem-Solving Independence: Ability to proactively identify challenges and deliver efficient solutions independently.
• Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication capabilities combined with a collaborative spirit to work effectively in diverse teams.

Salary £70,000 – £75,000
