Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the smooth running of the transport department through effective management
  • Manage on-road issues and delivery failure processes, liaising with customers
  • Ensure thorough training of drivers and porters in transportation safety and compliance
  • Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery, planning and optimizing routes
  • Conduct pre-shift and de-brief sessions with road crews
  • Manage performance and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Maintain high standards in line with IKEA’s quality processes
  • Manage drivers’ hours and ensure accurate records for audits
  • Investigate incidents, including missing items
  • Follow Safe Systems of Work processes in accordance with health and safety regulations

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience in transport is essential
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and transport management systems
  • Good knowledge of driver and transport legislation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive, flexible attitude
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
