We need someone with a Microsoft tech-stack background who has experience as an Azure DevSecOps Consultant or a seasoned Unix / Linux Systems Administrator. We want someone with a development or coding background who has transitioned into Software Security / Cloud Security engineering. Strong Azure skills are essential; AWS experience is a plus but not required.
Instead of a standard IT Operations background, we need you to have come from a Development background with a solid understanding of software development, as you’ll be working closely with developers and need to build trust and communicate effectively.
This role was successfully introduced into the company two years ago, and they now need someone to continue developing this function. You will work with cross-functional teams, so strong communication skills are necessary. There will be opportunities for growth, including leading a team as the company expands. This is a hands-on, lead role, ideal for someone with consultancy experience and practical skills.
A passion for modern security approaches is critical — helping teams integrate security into their daily workflows, automating, streamlining, and shifting security left without compromising quality.
Experience Required:
- Demonstrable experience as a Systems Administrator, Software Developer, or both
- Expertise in Cloud Security
- Passion for DevSecOps, with knowledge of Terraform, Bicep, SonarCloud, Wiz, and security tools like Trivy
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices
- Ability to perform Rapid Risk Assessments and Threat Modeling
- Technical skills in Azure Security Monitoring, including Application Insights and SIEM
- Excellent communication skills to ensure stakeholder alignment and successful product delivery and support
