Learn the fundamental research and analysis skills needed to be an analyst at Point72 and apply intellectual curiosity in a role that values creativity, autonomy, and analytical rigor.
Program Structure
- Months 1-8: Academics & Fundamental Research Training
- Develop sophisticated company analysis and modeling skills from our Academy faculty, investment professionals, and professors from leading universities.
- Learn statistics, accounting, financial modeling, data analysis, coding, and more.
- Complete a compliance training curriculum to prepare for an analyst role.
- Some training will take place in our New York City office.
- Apply your skills to real-life situations through rotations with two investing teams.
- Gain experience and mentorship from investment professionals.
- Rotations will occur in local offices.
Post-Graduation Opportunity
Upon successful completion, you may interview for an equity research analyst role at Point72, working closely with your portfolio manager to develop a deep understanding of companies and markets, and to generate actionable investment ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop financial models and perform fundamental research.
- Attend industry events, interact with sell-side analysts, and analyze data.
- Continue professional development through coaching and resources.
- Identify market debates and recognize variant views.
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
Who Should Apply
We seek problem-solvers with diverse backgrounds and potential, including but not limited to:
- Finance, industry-specific experience, or related fields such as law, philosophy, economics, sciences, engineering, or humanities.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, ethical standards, self-motivation, and a desire to learn.
- Undergraduate degree or higher.
