Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the ongoing development of the UK tax function, including hiring as needed, ensuring robust tax systems and controls.
2. Maintain and enhance procedures and controls to comply with SOX provisions.
3. Manage direct tax compliance obligations, including Lloyd’s and US GAAP tax reporting.
4. Identify and manage tax automation initiatives.
5. Assess, document, and manage uncertain tax positions and related risks associated with UK operations.
6. Advise on tax implications of potential acquisitions, disposals, expansion, and similar projects.
7. Monitor and interpret UK and international tax developments relevant to UK operations.
8. Design and lead implementation of restructuring projects as required.
9. Participate in or lead cross-functional projects involving Tax, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
10. Manage transfer pricing and DPT related to UK operations.
11. Develop and update tax policies, including ESG-related tax policies.
12. Manage relationships with tax authorities and handle dispute resolution.
13. Proactively communicate with key stakeholders, including the UK CFO, Global Head of Tax, and external advisors.

Qualifications

• Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent qualification.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.

Experience

• Minimum five years of international tax experience in industry or public accounting.
• UK tax experience is essential; international tax experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of tax reporting under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS is preferred.

Additional skills include research and application of tax law, strong project management, effective communication, problem-solving, ability to meet deadlines, leadership, and teamwork skills.
