The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious Tier 1 Ranked Legal 500 law firm, renowned for providing specialised, high-quality legal services to both businesses and individuals. As the firm continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Costs Draftsperson to join their expert team, focusing on Personal Injury cases.
In this role, you will take ownership of your own caseload of Personal Injury cases while collaborating with a team of cost specialists. Your main responsibilities will include drafting points of dispute, negotiating cost settlements, and reviewing case files.
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting bills of costs and managing the recovery of costs through the Detailed Assessment process. This will involve negotiating costs, preparing budgets for either the Claimant and/or Defendant, and conducting independent advocacy.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced Costs Draftsperson with a proven track record in managing caseloads
- Strong knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules
- Proficient in preparing Points of Dispute and reviewing replies
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise, and manage a diverse caseload
- Effective both independently and in a team environment
- Strong legal acumen with attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
