Embedded Software Engineer | c£65,000 | Bath / HybridWe’re seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a team developing cutting-edge control and perception systems within the automotive industry.This role sits within a fast-growing start-up division of a larger, established group, focused on delivering next-generation autonomous and driverless solutions to new markets in the UK and internationally.You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and optimize embedded software for complex, high-performance systems. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring expertise in modern C++, embedded systems, and software modelling techniques.We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and the ability to communicate clearly with both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop embedded software architectures for innovative productsWrite and optimize C++ code for real-time embedded systems, ensuring performance, memory efficiency, and reliabilityDevelop and maintain software specifications, detailed design documentation, and executable UML models aligned with overarching SysML system modelsContribute to best practices across the software team and collaborate with colleagues across disciplinesDevelop robust communication protocols, including TCP/UDP and CANParticipate in debugging, integration, and hardware/software validation activities Skills & ExperienceMaster’s or PhD in systems/software engineering, computer science, or a related disciplineStrong proficiency in modern C/C++ for embedded systems (e.g., MISRA, JSF, or Google coding standards)Solid understanding of software architecture and UML-based modellingExperience with low-level programming, hardware/software integration, and debugging techniquesFamiliarity with Open API design for third-party integrationExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach Salary & BenefitsSalary c £65,000Bonus,25 days holiday,Bank holidays,Private healthcare,Company pension scheme,Life assurance,Income protection,Social events…
