JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION- Worthing

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Worthing. This role involves the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for a range of applications, working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Experience designing sheet metal, plastic, or machined components
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawings
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies
• Producing and maintaining BOMs and technical documentation
• Working with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
• Supporting prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs
• Participating in design reviews and contributing to product development initiatives
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
