Long Term Futures are thrilled to be partnering with an all-through Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Lambeth, currently seeking a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant with a particular interest in supporting children with autism and behavioural needs. About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Implement tailored strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Use visual aids, sensory resources, and structured routines to support learning
- Work closely with class teachers and therapists to follow individualised education and behaviour plans.
- Support students during transitions, breaks, and unstructured times of the day
About You:
- You are passionate about supporting children with autism and behavioural challenges, with a strong belief in inclusive education and the ability of every child to thrive when given the right support.
- You have relevant experience in SEN settings such as special schools, PRUs, or mainstream schools with SEN units. Experience in youth work, care, or mental health support is also valuable.
- You bring a calm, patient, and resilient approach, able to stay composed in challenging situations and understand behaviour as a form of communication.
- You are a team player who builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff alike, and you’re eager to grow through feedback, collaboration, and ongoing training.
