Job Description:

Working as a Children’s Home Support Worker for children with learning disabilities is a rewarding and impactful role. It involves providing care, encouragement, and guidance to help children achieve their full potential while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Implement and monitor care plans, adapting as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support network.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement, fostering independence and self-esteem.
  • Take individuals to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safety during transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the individual’s condition or needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in childcare or challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with individuals and their families.
  • Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • A valid driving license is advantageous for transporting individuals when necessary.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
