RPS Recruitment has been retained by CoolKit Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of temperature-controlled vehicles, to recruit a Refrigeration Engineer . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to install, service, and maintain refrigeration systems in commercial vehicles.
The Role
As a Refrigeration Engineer , you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of refrigeration installations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting vehicle refrigeration systems.
- Diagnosing faults and repairing key components, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Recharging refrigeration systems, ensuring correct pressure and cooling levels.
- Leading new installations and providing technical support to the wider team.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
- Following all safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assisting in stock control and ensuring parts and equipment are readily available.
- Training and mentoring junior engineers as part of their development.
The Person
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A safety-conscious approach with excellent communication skills.
- F-Gas qualification
- Experience working with refrigeration systems from brands such as GAH, Carrier, ThermoKing, or Hubbard (desirable).
- The ability to train others and support junior engineers in their development.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset with a results-driven approach.
