ROLE- Design ManagerTERM- PermanentThey are looking for a Design Manager with strong leadership experience to join their team in the Hampshire area on a permanent basis.The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes:At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design / New Product Development positionExcellent practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototypingStrong 3D CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks or InventorHands-on industry experience ideally working in a similar design role within a machine shop / workshop / manufacturing environmentKnowledge of machinery operations and electrical/electronic productsDegree / ONC / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similarAble to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgetsInnovative, accurate and passionate about designThe Design Manager role will involve:Managing a cross-functional team of Design and Manufacturing Engineers, and guiding/mentoring those less experiencedBeing responsible for the Design and Development of various productsUsing SolidWorks software for design on a day-to-day basisBeing responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototypingLiaising with clients and developing solutions for design specificationsCollaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projectsSupporting product Testing, Verification & ValidationIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible…
