Adult Social Care Solicitor
Salary: £55,000 – £58,500 per annum
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Predominantly Home-Based)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Social Care Solicitor to join a well-regarded Local Authority legal team. This role offers the chance to work on a broad range of complex and high-profile matters, supporting vital public services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on adult social care law, including the Care Act 2014, mental capacity, mental health, deprivation of liberty, and safeguarding
- Advise on immigration, ordinary residence, no recourse to public funds, and human rights matters
- Handle cases for the Court of Protection, including case preparation and advocacy
- Draft legal documents, deal with correspondence, and liaise with external professionals
- Represent the Council at court hearings and instruct Counsel in complex cases
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on new legislation and case law
- Ensure compliance with Lexcel and other quality standards
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with at least 3+ years PQE
- Strong experience in adult social care law and Court of Protection matters
- Advocacy experience and the ability to manage complex caseloads
- Excellent communication and research skills with the ability to work autonomously
