Finance Consultant – Process and Operational Excellence (FTC)
London Hybrid
£115 000 p/annum
We are supporting a global FTSE listed business in sourcing a skilled Finance Transformation Partner to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Finance Transformation Director in a global process and optimisation project. This role is crucial in advancing the project beyond its discovery phase, focusing on defining the next level case. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering significant annual benefits to the group's operating profit across all business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and detailed reporting of the value case for the Process & Operational Excellence initiative, ensuring comprehensive alignment across regions and functions.
- Implement robust governance structures, monitor progress meticulously, and establish key performance indicators to ensure the investment case is effectively tracked and managed.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure accountability for achieving the defined value case outcomes, fostering a culture of performance and responsibility.
- Provide critical financial insights and challenges to the Process & Operational Excellence Transformation programme, supporting stakeholders in making informed, strategic decisions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of risks and opportunities, with regular reviews to ensure proactive management and mitigation.
- Set and uphold high standards for financial analysis in investment proposals, ensuring consistency and alignment with Group financial reporting requirements.
- Partner with senior leaders, including executive stakeholders, to agree on benefits delivery across regions and functions, driving strategic outcomes and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Collaborate with Indirect Procurement teams to optimise technology contracting, particularly focusing on SAP S4/Hana, and ensure accurate cost representation in financial plans.
- Work closely with data owners and end users to identify opportunities for improved data management and innovative data usage to enhance business insights and decision-making.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leading efforts to identify solutions and enhance finance partnering and project financial management capabilities.
The project covers comprehensive end-to-end processes, including:
- Procurement and Payment: Oversee direct and indirect procurement, manage global inbound invoicing, and ensure efficient accounts payable processes.
- Supply Chain Management: Coordinate global supply chain activities to optimise planning and fulfilment.
- Customer and Revenue Management: Enhance customer service operations, streamline global outbound invoicing, and manage accounts receivable effectively.
- Financial Planning and Reporting: Develop robust budgeting and planning processes, ensuring accurate group reporting.
- Accounting and Financial Controls: Manage global accounting activities, oversee Treasury and Tax operations, and implement strong financial controls.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive experience in managing project financial outcomes within a complex, international matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to implement project financial frameworks and methodologies effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging in challenging conversations with senior leaders.
- Proficiency in data analytics and visual financial reporting, driving data-informed decision-making.
- Exceptional organisational and leadership abilities, with a talent for storytelling to drive action.
- Experience in collaborating with non-finance stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.
- Ability to balance meticulous attention to detail with a pragmatic approach to delivering value.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex situations.
