Technical Engineer

Job Description

A leading and well-established manufacturer in the East Midlands is looking to appoint a Technical Engineer to join their specialist team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in metallurgical and mechanical testing, quality systems, and technical coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical contract reviews of customer orders and clarify requirements
• Act as a reviewer for customer and regulatory specs in the Quality Management System
• Develop and maintain testing specifications via ERP
• Support mechanical and metallurgical testing teams with quality tools and systems
• Investigate and resolve non-conformances, assist in trend analysis and corrective actions
• Liaise closely with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and delivery
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the lab and test house environment
• Provide technical guidance on test procedures and documentation

✅ Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar engineering or quality-based role
• Solid understanding of mechanical/metallurgical testing processes
• Able to interpret technical specifications and standards
• Comfortable working across teams and departments to support production goals
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• ERP/QMS experience highly desirable
