Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, ensuring profitability and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
- Evaluate and analyse risks, providing expert recommendations and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Act as a referral point for junior underwriters, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and product development teams to ensure accurate pricing and risk assessment.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Contribute to the development of new products and underwriting strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in commercial underwriting, with a proven track record of managing high-value accounts.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products and market practices.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as ACII or FCII, are highly desirable.
