Job Purpose: To lead the underwriting of complex property accounts, ensuring profitable growth and compliance with company policies. The role involves managing high-value portfolios, building strong relationships with brokers, and contributing to the strategic development of the property underwriting division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of property accounts, ensuring profitability and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
• Evaluate and analyse risks, providing expert recommendations and solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive business growth.
• Act as a referral point for junior underwriters, providing guidance and support.
• Collaborate with the actuarial and claims teams to ensure accurate pricing and risk assessment.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
• Contribute to the development of new products and underwriting strategies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in property underwriting, with a proven track record of managing high-value accounts.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of property insurance products and market practices.
• Relevant professional qualifications, such as ACII or FCII, are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
