Learning Support Assistant – Outstanding Alternative Provision – Haywards HeathDo you have a passion for supporting young people with mental health needs? Are you ready to make a real difference in a rewarding and supportive environment?We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our outstanding alternative provision in Haywards Heath. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children with mental health needs, who are either admitted to the hospital or attend as day patients. Here’s why this is a great opportunity:

About the Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Assist teachers in the classroom, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment.

* Provide individual and group support to students with a wide range of needs.* Help students with their learning and develop their confidence and independence.* Contribute to a culture of respect and understanding. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for working with young people.
  • Is enthusiastic and committed to supporting learners.
  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Is able to make a positive contribution to our school’s ethos.

Key Requirements:

  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above.
  • A good standard of education across a range of subjects.
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills – equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English & Maths.
  • Working knowledge of the national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes.
  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation.
