A key part of the role will involve oversight of and liaison with the managing agent, being the first point of contact for the agent both for day-to-day matters as well as in relation to contract compliance and monitoring.
The role’s work will support our commitment to provide high quality temporary accommodation and affordable housing; ensuring that our tenants live in safe homes which are well managed and maintained; and that our managing agent is delivering a customer-focused, value-for-money service and that the council is meeting its obligations as a landlord.
Duties
- To work with the management agent and colleagues within the council’s Housing Service and Asset Management and Property Services (AMPS) to ensure the successful mobilisation of additional stock.
- To help with the financial administration of the managing agent contract and related matters – from arranging for payment of suppliers and overseeing timely receipt of payments from the managing agent – and liaison with finance teams, accountants and auditors as appropriate.
- To maintain the council’s residential property database, including all property build, compliance and stock condition reports and certificates.
- To work with the managing agent to collate and hold any customer information that is needed to deliver proactive repairs, planned improvements or effectively manage a complaint.
