Apply for the Social Media Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

Join the Revolution in Car Finance

At Carmoola, we’re changing the way people get on the road – making it faster, fairer, and entirely built around the customer. We’ve started with car finance, reimagining it from the ground up with a seamless, digital experience that puts drivers in control.

Since launch, we’ve raised over £240m from top-tier investors (including QED), helped over 10,000 customers get behind the wheel – and we’re scaling fast. But we’re just getting started.

To take things to the next level, we’re looking for a creative, strategic and performance-driven Social Media Manager to define and deliver our presence across all social channels – capturing our brand’s playful spirit and driving meaningful audience engagement at scale.

Your Mission

You’ll take the reins on developing and owning our social media strategy – defining how we show up as a brand and telling stories that resonate with our audience. You’ll work closely with our Head of SEO & Content Production and the whole marketing team to ensure cohesion across everything we put into the world – to keep our brand voice consistent and compelling – from spontaneous cultural moments to planned campaigns.

This is a high-impact role for someone who combines sharp thinking with hands-on creativity. You’ll be responsible for both setting the strategy and creating the content – bringing ideas to life that grow our brand, build community, and inspire people to choose Carmoola.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and own our social strategy. Define what great looks like across platforms, and lead the execution from planning through to publishing.
  • Create standout content. Conceptualise, shoot, and edit high-engagement content for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging social channels.
  • Adapt your tone across audiences. You’re comfortable being on camera when needed and can shift seamlessly between creator-style content for customers and more professional messaging for investors or partners.
  • Tell compelling stories. A natural storyteller who knows when to inform, when to entertain – and how to do both in a single post.
  • Grow our audience. Build an engaged following through a mix of organic reach, reactive moments, creator partnerships and community interaction.
  • Optimise and experiment. Use performance data and insights to test, learn and iterate – moving fast to capture opportunities.
  • Collaborate across teams. Work with Product, Growth, Brand and Customer Ops to bring ideas to life in a way that feels authentic and customer-first.
  • Stay ahead of the curve. Keep us on the front foot with platform updates, creative trends and what’s working in the D2C space.
  • Develop viral ideas. Create thumb-stopping content that showcases Carmoola’s unique tone of voice and point of view.
  • Ensure brand consistency. Make sure all social content aligns with our wider messaging and feels unmistakably Carmoola.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-5 years’ experience in content strategy and creation. You’ve built and delivered social media plans that drive results – ideally in a D2C, consumer-first, fintech or scale-up business. You know how to operate in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
  • Demonstrable portfolio of successful social media content. You can showcase exceptional storytelling skills.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on ability. You’re as comfortable building the plan as you are executing it. A strong understanding of social media algorithms and engagement strategies is essential.
  • Creative instincts and executional flair. You know what makes people stop scrolling, and you can create it.
  • Advanced video editing skills. Proficient in tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar.
  • Basic design know-how. You understand visual fundamentals and can apply them when creating content or working with design assets.
  • Data-driven. You use performance data to inform what to double down on, and where to pivot.
  • Tool-savvy. You’re comfortable using social media management tools and basic graphic design platforms (like Canva, Figma or similar).
  • Curious and current. You stay on top of emerging social platforms and cultural trends – and love experimenting with what’s next.
  • Collaborative and communicative. You enjoy working closely with others – and bring strong energy into a team setting.
  • Passion for Carmoola’s mission. You want to help reshape how people get on the road – and have fun doing it.

Benefits

What’s in it for You

  • Hybrid working: 3 days a week in our London office, in the heart of beautiful Primrose Hill.
  • A high-impact role with room to grow. You’ll own and scale a core part of our brand strategy.
  • A culture of trust, kindness and ownership. We move fast, support each other, and enjoy the ride.
