About the Role
We’re launching a new Clinical Insourcing Division under a healthcare consortium to help NHS trusts tackle waiting list backlogs and elective recovery targets. As Director of NHS Insourcing Services, you’ll lead strategic growth, build partnerships with NHS trusts, and oversee safe, efficient clinical delivery across high-demand specialties like diagnostics, surgery, and endoscopy.
You’ll work at system level with commissioners, procurement frameworks, and operational teams to build a responsive and compliant service that improves patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver the insourcing strategy across England
Secure NHS contracts via tenders, frameworks, and direct award
Mobilise consultant-led clinical teams across specialisms
Ensure compliance with CQC, NHS England, and professional standards
Lead governance, risk, audit, and performance monitoring
Build and manage a clinical workforce bank and rota system
Oversee budgets, pricing models, and service-level KPIs
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Senior leadership experience in NHS or NHS-facing providers
Experience in elective care recovery, insourcing or outsourcing
Deep understanding of clinical operations, governance, and commissioning
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with NHS leaders and clinicians
Desirable:
Experience with NHS procurement frameworks (HTE, WFA, CCS)
Clinical qualification or senior experience in multi-disciplinary team settings
Experience mobilising contracts at scale and working with ICBs
Benefits Package
Salary: £95,000 – £105,000 DOE
Bonus: Up to 20% performance-based
Pension: 6–10% employer contribution
