Job Description:

HSE Recruitment are working with a valued consultancy client who, due to growth are looking for a Senior Machinery Safety Consultant to join the business, covering clients in the Yorkshire region.

This role is critical to the business as machinery safety is a specialist arm that is growing with their manufacturing client base. You will be dealing with clients, doing assessments, designing upgrades and fault finding, offering specialist advice and support. A typical week will include travelling to client sites, mainly across the Yorkshire area, as well as ad hoc home working around 1 day a week.

On offer is a salary of £55-70,000 DOE, car allowance of £4000 plus additional benefits. They will invest in your, your career and offer long term incentives to the right candidates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conducting PUWER assessments using software developed in-house
  • CE / UKCA marking of machinery and equipment, including the publishing of thorough technical files
  • AutoCAD design and development of SRP/CS electrical circuits
  • Designing and delivering fully compliant machinery safety upgrades
  • Providing guidance and developing evidence of compliance with relevant machinery safety standards
  • Independently conduct and prepare machinery safety assessments, surveys and tests
  • Complete chargeable work with the required budget and timeframes
  • Maintaining client satisfaction and work efficiency of the business
  • Ensuring completion of all assigned work and relevant documentation
  • Working in accordance with required procedures and standards to fulfil client expectations

What we need from you:

  • Extensive knowledge and practical working experience of machinery safety standards
  • Previous experience assessing industrial machinery; developing, documenting and recommending practicable improvements
  • Use of test and measuring equipment relative to inspections
  • Ability to review detailed schematics, control and safety interfaces, and process and machinery safety logic
  • Attention to detail and ability to develop clear and concise reports that are easy to interpret
  • Willingness to provide guidance to the wider team and pass on knowledge and experience.
  • A Willingness to learn, teach and adapt to change.
  • Highly motivated with a positive approach to engineering excellence
  • High level of computer literacy (MS office) and experience of using large and complex management systems
  • Proactively seeking out opportunities for self-development and business opportunities
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to operate flexibly to accommodate client needs while managing own workload

Desirables:

  • Degree level engineering qualification or extensive practical experience in a similar role
  • Certified Machinery Safety Expert
