Location: London with National Remit (minimum of three to four days per week based in Red Lion Street/in the business)

Job Summary:

Restaurant Associates is looking for a People Operations Business Partner to support in aligning the business objectives with all our team members, ensuring the continuing delivery of brilliant food and service.

The ability to assess and anticipate People related needs and communicating proactively with the senior leadership team is critical to shaping the engagement of well-trained teams.

You will work closely with the senior leadership team and our clients as required, to develop and deliver the progressive people strategy. As such, you will continually evolve and formulate partnerships across the People function to deliver value added service to both management and other team members that reflects the business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and contribute to the HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team and team colleagues to improve work relationships, build moral and increase retention.
  • Build leadership and people capability across the organisations through formal and informal encounters and initiatives.
  • Support organisation projects in particular in the areas of change management, organisation design, communications and skills development.
  • Partner with managers to communicate policies, procedures and ensure they have a good understanding of employment law.
  • Responsible for embedding a high-performance culture which drives ongoing performance feedback and builds consistency through robust practices and tools.
  • Be the guardian of culture and engagement in the sector by celebrating and recognising success, leading the output of the Your Say Survey and working with the Comms team to deliver regular sector updates.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with the support of Central Functions and the wider RA People team as needed.
  • Provide advice to individual managers when dealing with people related matters that are aligned to our culture and values and aimed to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Works as partner with HR specialist areas (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Rewards, Payroll, HR Org Management and TUPE Teams).
  • Guide managers through the performance management cycle with support from Central HR, ensuring development plans are in place.
  • Identify training needs and liaise with Central L & D to ensure training programs are delivered.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programmes to ensure their suitability and success.
  • Assist in the talent acquisition and recruitment process to ensure we attract and retain the best candidates to join our business by ensuring the optimisation of supporting systems and toolkits.
  • Lead the in unit talent process, partnering with the Head of People and central Talent team to ensure we have talent pools, succession plans and individual talent plans for key in unit employees.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Drive and support organisational change initiatives.
  • Manage any core projects such as annual pay review and Your Say Survey.

Person Specification

  • Passionate about people – enjoys communicating with clients, senior management as well as the all-important team members that deliver great service every day.
  • Experience of developing a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Proven record of change management and strategic planning.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to operate with a flexible and inclusive approach.
  • Flexible and agile, balancing structured approach, resilience, and problem-solving skills with ability to flex and adapt as required. Appreciates need for speed of action and reaction without diluting quality of results.
  • Strong influencer with the ability to negotiate across all stakeholders (internal and external) with a resilience and tenacity to drive a compelling vision for change.
  • Experience in ER and case management
  • Experience of working with client groups based at multiple locations.
  • Proactive and commercial approach.
  • 3years + experience in a demanding HR environment.
  • Ability to work with the field and flexible hours – the role may require some but limited UK travel and overnight stays.
