Company: Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD)
Apply for the GACD Programme Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

About the job

The GACD is an alliance of international research funders jointly funding, developing and facilitating global collaborations between researchers to tackle the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease, diabetes, mental health conditions and cancers. NCDs are increasing in prevalence and are a significant risk to health and wellbeing. GACD specifically focuses on research that will inform policy and practice for underserved populations particularly those in low- and middle-income countries as well as amongst indigenous ‘First Nations’ populations to find the most effective strategies to prevent or manage disease.

We are recruiting a Programme Manager to join our small and dynamic staff team based in central London. The role is offered as full or part-time.

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity as the Programme Manager will support coordination amongst the international funding agencies in the alliance and lead on the delivery of GACD joint research funding calls on non-communicable diseases.

You will have experience in:

  • Health research funding (working with a national funding agency, research organisation or international funder).
  • Managing and delivering research funding schemes and processes, including knowledge of facilitating a robust peer review process.
  • Convening, running and briefing committees.
  • Partnership working, multi-stakeholder project management.

You must have a right right to live and work in the UK at the time of applying.

Note that GACD operates hybrid working with two days per week in office, and three days working from home for full time staff members.

You can find full details of the role and how to apply on the GACD website: (https://www.gacd.org/news/2025-04-02-job-vacancy-gacd-programme-manager) or by contacting Heather Taylor at Forest HR at talent@foresthr.co.uk
