Portfolio Manager – Head of EU Gas & Power Trading

Based in London, Geneva, or Dubai

A US-based leading and globally recognized multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager and Head of Gas & Power Trading to join their London-based team.

This PM will be responsible for building the Power Trading strategy and platform from inception as part of a new pod.

Summary:

• The PM will be tasked with portfolio construction for the power trading desk
• Candidates are expected to have an excellent track record in risk-taking and P&L
• Candidates should demonstrate consistent and highly profitable returns in annual discretionary trading
• Develop and execute actionable speculative trading commodity strategies where you will be responsible for portfolio construction, risk management, trading strategy, etc
• Work closely with colleagues to devise and execute strategies, including collaboration with fundamental and quantitative analytics, data scientists, and junior trading members.
• Monitor portfolio risk.
• Manage and lead junior members of the team.

Background:

• 15+ years of experience with demonstrated success outside of a system or asset base
• Ideal candidates will have experience within a trading house, investment bank, hedge fund, asset manager, or related trading environment
• Ability to demonstrate keen portfolio risk and operational awareness
• Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced and time-critical environment
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
