Location: This role is located at Apothecaries’ Hall, Blackfriars Lane. EC4V 6EJ.

Staff qualifying under our hybrid working policy currently have the flexibility to work up to 2 days per week from home.

Report to: Head of Academic Department

Benefits: The pension scheme is a defined contribution scheme, and the Society matches employee contributions up to 10% of salary. Annual leave is currently up to 28 days in total, including a two-week shutdown at Christmas, plus the usual public holidays. The Centre for Health Studies (CfHS) is the academic arm of the Society, which also encompasses the Faculty of Conflict & Catastrophe Medicine and the Faculty of History & Philosophy of Medicine & Pharmacy. The CfHS is responsible for the successful delivery of seven post-graduate level diplomas, as well as courses, lectures and events, thereby enabling and furthering professional development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Centre for Health Studies is in an exciting period of growth, focusing upon the implementation of new electronic learning platforms, new governance structures, expansion of its academic offerings and the consolidation of its administrative procedures. The Academic Centre Manager is a key role providing administrative expertise, support and guidance, whilst ensuring the efficient administration of academic committees, short training courses, annual prizes and stakeholder events.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Academic Centre Manager primarily supports the Head of Academic Department in operational aspects and forward planning of the Centre for Health Studies. Also working with other team members of the department, the post holder will ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, reviewed and best practice employed. The post holder will ensure the smooth running of meetings and academic events with quality, governance, efficiency and accuracy of processes in mind, in order to maintain the high standards and reputation of the organisation.
