The Role

GFP&A Senior Manager – Margin Analytics & Planning

The Financial Planning & Analysis team are responsible for the performance management of the LSEG Group financials, encompassing the full P&L, providing insight into trends, movements and variables. The Senior Manager – Margin Analytics & Planning will play a critical role in the performance management of the Group. This role is uniquely placed to drive the achievement of the Group’s margin targets through understanding historic and projected performance and underlying drivers to deliver increased transparency into our cost base and maximise financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and leadership skills along with a deep understanding of margin management in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

Analytics and Insights

  • Drive informed decision making through providing insightful margin analysis and identifying trends, variances and opportunities for margin optimization.
  • Lead the organisation to leverage the insights delivered by the fully allocated P&L.
  • Partner with business and functional finance leads to understand margin drivers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on margin related matters.
  • Oversee the Non-Departmental cost base including Group wide iVAT, Pension and Compensation costs and partner with the broader organisation to optimise this area.

Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation of cost-related components in long term strategic and financial plans, annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Be part of the Group “Fit For Growth” framework to drive ongoing transparency and operational efficiency across the Group.
  • Collaborate with Divisional and Functional teams to ensure forecasts are accurate and actionable.

Reporting

  • Design and inform requirements for dashboards and reports to monitor key margin metrics e.g. operating leverage and volume driver analysis.
  • Prepare key messages, reporting and analysis to stakeholders across the business, including ExCo and the Board.
  • Drive the adoption of tools and systems to enhance cost visibility and control.

  • Develop team members to ensure professional growth and skill enhancement.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in senior financial planning and analysis roles within complex, multinational organizations.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, simplify complex concepts, and foster innovative thinking to create what best looks like for the organization.
  • Technical Proficiency: Robust understanding of applying financial modelling techniques in a complex environment and experience of investment planning methodology and execution.

Education / Certifications:

  • Professional Finance Qualification – e.g. MBA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
