Category Manager – Medical & Clinical Procurement | Up to £55K | South Birmingham

We’re looking for a Category Manager to take the lead on end-to-end tendering and strategic sourcing within clinical, medical, and surgical categories. This is your chance to work in a highly regulated, fast-moving environment where your ability to deliver value, ensure compliance, and drive efficiencies will make a tangible difference.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the full end-to-end procurement process, from strategy development to contract award, within medical and clinical categories.
  • Leading tendering activities, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.
  • Working closely with stakeholders and clinical teams to develop robust category strategies that meet operational needs.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers to drive cost savings and ensure value for money.
  • Managing supplier performance and contract compliance, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • Providing expert procurement advice, influencing decision-making, and ensuring best practices are followed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NHS or healthcare procurement experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.
  • Strong background in category management, tendering, and contract law within a large organisation.
