Permanent Mechanic / General Vehicle Technician – Bury
Hours: Monday–Friday Flexi Time around 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-growing car dealership based in Bury. In just two years, the business has made a real mark in the local motor trade, thanks to a leadership team with over 20 years of industry experience and a clear vision for growth. They’re currently selling around 80 cars per month and have recently expanded their operation to include an in-house body shop and repair bay.
They’re now looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join the new in-house team.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will help bring vehicle repairs and servicing under one roof—cutting downtime, improving customer service, and reducing reliance on external garages.
Key responsibilities include:
General servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of makes and models
Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical work (brakes, gearboxes, discs, pads, etc.)
Using diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues
Coordinating with external specialists for complex jobs
Supporting quality control and efficiency in the workshop
About YouYou’ll need to be experienced, dependable, and confident working independently.
Essential:
Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic
Comfortable with all aspects of general maintenance and repair
Experience with brakes, gearboxes, and diagnostics
Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on doing the job right
