Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven Real Estate lawyer to join a close-knit legal team, supporting property and clean energy projects. This role requires solid experience in real estate law and a keen interest in sustainability and the energy transition. The successful candidate will be involved in advising on a variety of property-related matters, particularly within the renewables space, helping to deliver commercially focused legal support on projects that contribute to a greener, low-carbon future.

About the Company

The company continues to supply innovative energy solutions to hard-to-reach areas, but its purpose has shifted. Today, it is dedicated to supporting businesses in their transition to cleaner, low-carbon energy sources. Sustainability now drives every aspect of the organisation’s work, with an ambitious goal to help eliminate 1 million tonnes of CO2 by 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Real Estate Transactions

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage documentation for property acquisitions, leases, sales, and financing.
  • Advise on title investigations, land registration, and property due diligence.
  • Handle landlord and tenant matters, including lease agreements and renewals.

Renewable Energy Projects:

  • Provide legal support for the development, acquisition, and operation of renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric facilities.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), connection agreements, and joint ventures.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, land use, and environmental matters related to renewable energy projects.

You will ideally need:

  • 3-6 years of experience in Real Estate
  • Experience in renewables
  • Private practice and/or in-house experience

The company is growing and offering fantastic flexibility for this role, which can be either fully remote or based on a hybrid working model from their Exeter office.
