Our Risk & Compliance practice is growing, and we are seeking a Model Risk Manager to work as a consultant, supporting a major investment bank in ensuring compliance with model governance policies throughout the model lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Model Governance & Compliance
- Support model owners across the bank to ensure compliance with internal model risk management policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., SR 11-7, Basel III, IFRS 9).
- Oversee the full model lifecycle, from development and validation to implementation, monitoring, and retirement.
- Maintain comprehensive model documentation, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.
Risk Assessment & Monitoring
- Assist with independent model risk reviews, identifying potential weaknesses in model design, assumptions, and data quality.
- Monitor model performance, track key risk indicators, and recommend remediation actions where needed.
- Identify model drift and ensure timely recalibration or retraining of models.
Regulatory & Audit Support
- Support internal risk committees, regulatory audits, and governance forums by preparing risk reports and compliance updates.
- Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies to address findings related to model risk.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
- Act as a key liaison between model developers, risk teams, quantitative analysts, and senior management.
- Provide training and advisory support to model owners on governance best practices and policy adherence.
- Drive risk culture awareness and ensure stakeholders understand the importance of robust model risk management.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in model risk management, model validation, or risk governance within investment banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of quantitative models, including credit risk, market risk, and stress testing models.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as SR 11-7, CCAR, Basel III, IFRS 9, PRA/FCA guidelines.
- Experience working with model risk frameworks, governance policies, and validation processes.
