Estimator – Facilities Management £65k -£70k

Position Overview: As a Facilities Estimator, you will play a critical role in our organization by accurately estimating the cost of projects related to facility maintenance, construction, and renovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budgetary constraints. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to contribute to our ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation:
- Prepare cost estimates for facility maintenance, renovation, and construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Analyse project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Cost Analysis:
- Research and gather data on material and labour costs, subcontractor bids, equipment, and other relevant cost factors.
- Analyse cost data and industry trends to provide accurate estimates for projects.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to review project scopes and ensure all aspects of a project are considered in the estimates.
- Bid Proposal:
- Assist in the development of bid proposals and presentations to clients.
- Present cost estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, ensuring they are well-organized and easily accessible.
- Cost Control:
- Continuously monitor and control project costs to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that estimates and project plans align with quality standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities estimating within the construction or facilities management industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industry-specific codes, regulations, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g. Certified Professional Estimator – CPE).
- Familiarity with sustainable and environmentally friendly building practices.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
