JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Great Yarmouth
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Great Yarmouth. This role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop high-quality products for various industries.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience in mechanical design, preferably within manufacturing or special-purpose machinery
- Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and machining processes
- Ability to produce detailed technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
- Producing 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to optimise designs
- Conducting design reviews and modifications as needed
- Ensuring designs comply with customer specifications and industry standards
- Managing multiple projects while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
