Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Instrumentation

Job Summary:

Europlan is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer – Instrumentation to join our dynamic team in Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of Mechanical systems for a variety of engineering projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects across multiple sectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, layouts, and instrumentation in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Perform mechanical calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection for instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and other relevant design software.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, and civil engineers, to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and support project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international mechanical and instrumentation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Assist in project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessment.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance design efficiency and innovation.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and instrumentation design within a consulting, industrial, or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and energy-efficient mechanical systems design is an advantage.
