My client is based close to York centre and is a leading player in the manufacturing sector. The business is in good shape, financially secure with a robust product pipeline. This role will be key to manage the financial operations of the company.

Job Description

The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:

  1. Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting. Provide in-depth analysis and insights on financial performance, identifying trends, and recommending actions to improve financial outcomes.
  3. Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial integrity, minimise risk, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting and management.
  5. Financial Analysis & Planning: Provide commercial analysis and support to senior management, including profitability analysis, cost management, and business case evaluations.
  6. Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to execute their responsibilities effectively.
  7. External Relations: Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties to ensure the group’s financial statements and tax filings are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Group Financial Controller will have the following credentials:

  1. Professional finance qualificationACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  2. Strong technical background gained either through public practice or industry.
  3. Experience within manufacturing and production/Retail/Consumer products/FMCG ideal but not essential.
  4. Leadershipat least 3 years in a leadership role.
  5. Effective communication skills with the ability to engage at board level.
