Job Description:

This is an exciting Expatriate opportunity to work on an International Construction project in Africa. Please note, applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.

Task Descriptions:

  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the G3 Systems Safety policy.
  • Ensuring sub-contractors plan, operate and deliver the contract in accordance with their scope of works and the programme plan in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Ensuring that sub-contractors deliver in accordance with the agreed design and quality standards.
  • Manage the site diary in accordance with Company best practice.
  • Manage weekly reporting to the Project Manager in accordance with the contract.
  • Ensure that site activities are in accordance with UK health and safety standards and that agreed standards are established at the outset of the project.
  • Ensure that a site induction process is implemented and managed.
  • Toolbox talks are developed and delivered.
  • Manage site access restrictions.
  • Manage equipment usage restrictions and procedures.
  • Manage permits to work on site.
  • Drive delivery of continuous safety improvements.
  • Responsibility for the successful safe completion of the project: quality, time, procurement, client interface and to lead by example in all that they do reporting to Project Manager.
  • Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, giving regular feedback and providing challenging learning experiences.
  • Ensure employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver.
  • Ensure that detailed plans are developed commensurate with the overall project plan such that material, resources and supply chain can be procured and scheduled.
  • Attend site meetings; progress meetings, safety meetings and project reviews with all stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Highlight and report on variations to contract.
  • Point of contact for site security and welfare.

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid First Aid at Work Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar.
  • Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate.
  • Valid LOLER certificate.
  • SMSTS.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project.
  • Managing all aspects of the build process.
  • Good working knowledge of the NEC Contracts.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety obligations and building legislation.
  • A good understanding of the considerate contractor’s requirements to achieve high scores.
