My client, a leading D&B Office fit out firm, is looking for a Technical Designer to join their team. They are a well-established firm that has been operating in the commercial workplace sector for a number of years, with an amazing office based in London and excellent travel routes. They have secured a brilliant pipeline of work with projects valued up to £8 million.
They have a strong ethic to promote from within with a view to make you a senior member of their design team.
Responsibilities:
- Creating technical drawing packages for projects using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Carrying out building surveys.
- Attending site meetings over the course of project delivery.
- Communicating with clients & sub-contractors.
- Printing drawing packs for use on site & client meetings.
- Ensuring the drawing issue sheet is up to date with the correct revisions.
- Issuing drawings to sub-contractors and clients.
- Working closely with the internal Design, Projects & Finance Teams.
- Liaising with Building Control when required.
- Ensuring in-house printing equipment for CAD or Revit drawings is readily available and fully functional at all times.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-4 years’ experience using Revit or AutoCAD.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Experience within the area of Traditional tender & build projects.
- Demonstrative experience with construction drawings, detailed drawings, and schedules.
- Liaison with contractors (Mechanical, Electrical & Joinery).
- A good knowledge of current Building Regulations.
- Process-oriented & self-disciplined individual.
- A proven track record of understanding design proposals and creating technical drawing packages to support these designs.
- Effectively carrying out building surveys and preparing technical documentation with guidance from Building Control.
- Confidence in attending site meetings independently and communicating effectively with clients and sub-contractors.
- Experience of measured building surveying.
- Experience within commercial workplace design.
IT Skills:
- AutoCAD or Revit.
- Microsoft Office 365.
- Sketchup.
- Knowledge of Procore, online-based Construction Management software.
