Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for designing energy-efficient HVAC systems for healthcare and research facilities? Our client, a leading engineering firm located in Camden County, NJ, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join their multi-disciplinary Healthcare/Sciences Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on state-of-the-art Acute & Ambulatory Care Health Facilities, Academic Institutions, and Corporate Research Centers, contributing to high-impact projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  1. HVAC & Mechanical System Design – Develop high-efficiency HVAC systems tailored to client needs and industry standards.
  2. Load Calculations & Energy Modeling – Utilize eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP, or similar tools for load analysis and system optimization.
  3. Technical Drawing & Compliance – Create, review, and refine mechanical and HVAC system drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring adherence to NFPA, Joint Meeting, and other relevant codes.
  4. Project Coordination & Collaboration – Work closely with facility owners, architects, and project teams, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.
  5. Construction Support & Administration – Conduct shop drawing reviews, perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide on-site construction support as needed.
  6. Mentorship & Leadership – Guide and provide technical direction to junior engineers and engineering trainees, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  7. Proposal Development & Client Engagement – Assist Project Managers and Engineers in preparing proposals, managing client relationships, and executing projects efficiently.

WHAT YOU BRING

  1. 5+ Years of Experience – Proven experience in HVAC & Mechanical Design for critical care and laboratory facilities.
  2. Proficiency in Energy Modeling Tools – Experience using eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, or Carrier HAP for load analysis and system performance assessment.
  3. Strong Technical & Design Software Skills – Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  4. Understanding of Industry Standards & Codes – Knowledge of NFPA, Joint Meeting, and local/state mechanical engineering regulations.
  5. Time Management & Adaptability – Ability to work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and transition efficiently between tasks.
  6. Excellent Communication & Technical Writing – Strong ability to convey complex ideas, create technical documentation, and prepare reports/presentations.
  7. Ability to work onsite in Camden County, NJ a minimum of 3 days a week.
  8. Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure – must be actively working towards licensure.
