Chief Investment Officer (CIO) – Multi-Family Office / Institutional Investment Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer to lead our family office’s investment strategy and portfolio management across both public and private markets. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in multi-asset portfolio management, risk assessment, and investment operations oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive investment strategies across public and private markets
- Lead asset allocation decisions and portfolio rebalancing across liquid and illiquid investments
- Management of global liquid investment portfolios including equities, fixed income, FX, and structured products
- Oversee the selection and monitoring of external investment managers and funds
- Lead the private equity investment process, including deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring
- Monitor and analyse global market conditions and macroeconomic trends
- Implement robust risk management frameworks across all investment activities
- Ensure portfolio diversification, and regular portfolio stress testing and scenario analysis is conducted from a risk management perspective
- Ensure monitoring of investment performance and attribution analysis is conducted in line with the policy
- Oversee counterparty risk management and exposure limits
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and develop the investment team
- Chair the Investment Committee and present recommendations to stakeholders
- Establish and maintain investment policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Oversee investment operations, including trade execution and settlement
- Ensure relationships with key service providers, including custodians and prime brokers, are managed appropriately with the operational teams to ensure smooth running of the business.
Requirements
- 15+ years of investment management experience with proven track record
- Extensive experience across multiple asset classes including public and private markets
- Strong understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, and attribution analysis
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing investment professionals
- Excellence in investment research and analysis
- Experience working with family offices or UHNW clients as well as institutional investors
- Strong network within the investment management industry
