Direct Lending – Portfolio Management Analyst

A top-tier global alternative investment manager is looking to hire a Portfolio Management Analyst to be based in their London office. With approximately $100 billion of assets under management in the region, this client focuses on providing financing for mid-market and large-cap companies across the capital structure. In this position, you will support the management of the Direct Lending team’s European corporate debt and equity investments as well as supporting ongoing fund raising and existing investor relationship efforts.

Job Responsibilities

• Providing assistance to deal teams with assigned investments and general portfolio management including quarterly valuation and reporting
• Supporting potential restructuring with detailed Excel financial models including cash flow analysis, and related capital structure re-structuring analysis
• Communicating with portfolio company management
• Performing and helping manage mark-to-market quarter end valuations and process
• Analyzing portfolio trends, market leverage and price development
• Maintaining and developing the firm’s investment track record
• Assisting in investors presentations and queries
• Performing detailed financial and market research and analysis that forms the basis for decisions on new debt and/or equity investments of the firm

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a leading university or educational institution
• Minimum of two years of relevant investment banking / fund / advisor experience
• Strong intellect with solid quantitative, financial and analytical skills and attention to details
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively presenting analysis and recommendations to team members and stakeholders
• Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with financial analysis software and databases is advantageous
